The 4:00 Cookie: A Healthy Treat for Moms and Kids

ONE LOCAL MOM CONQUERS LATE AFTERNOON CRAVINGS WITHOUT THE CRASH.

It’s mid-afternoon.  You ate lunch two hours ago, perhaps snacked on an apple and a diet soda, but that itch for something sweet is still on the tip of your tongue.  Enter the 4:00 Cookie, a healthy solution to afternoon (or anytime) cravings that not only tastes delicious (we tried them!), but won’t spike your blood sugar and leave you wanting more.

Tarrytown mom of three & former snack food marketing consultant, Debra Holstein, is the inspiring mom behind the 4:00 cookie. With low-to-medium glycemic ingredients like whole grains, oats, flax, nuts, fruit, bittersweet chocolate and coconut sugar, the treats are fulfilling and tasty for the whole family.  Our favorites were Cherry, Dark Chocolate & Hazelnut and Wild Blueberry Almond, but they’re also available in gourmet flavors like Fig, Dark Chocolate & Coconut, Chocolate Macadamia Crunch, and Cranberry Trail Mix. Of course, there are gluten-free options, 8:00 muffins and granola in their offering, as well.

Buy them for yourself – keep them in the car for when you have a hankering hunger – or consider them next time you want to treat a girlfriend who needs a pick-me-up, just had a baby or just because.  (It’s a brilliant alternative to bringing treats to someone who doesn’t want the temptation in their house.)

You can purchase 4:00 Cookies online and in more than 30 stores in Westchester and Connecticut, as well as in their own retail space located at 15 Purchase Street in Rye. The cookies retail for $3, but if you buy a dozen the price comes down to $2.50.  On-line, they are $2.50 each (plus shipping).

Special 15% discount offer for Wee Westchester readers! Enter code WW15 onlinewhen placing an order or mention when you go into the Rye store.
